Beyond plastic pollution
Register now because this popular class fills up fast! Offered by Bennington College’s Center For the Advancement of Public Action, it can be audited, or taken for college credit. This seven-week online course meets Wednesdays 7:00-9:00 PM New York ET starting on April 19 – May 31.
Topics covered include: overview of the plastic problem, health and toxic impacts of plastic and additives, why recycling can’t solve the plastic pollution problem, true and false solutions, public action to effect positive change, extended producer responsibility and more.
The class is taught by Judith Enck who is a Visiting Professor at Bennington College and Senior Fellow at the College’s Center for the Advancement of Public Action (CAPA). She has a long and distinguished career in government and in the non profit community on a range of environmental protection issues. She was appointed by President Obama to serve as Regional Administrator at the US Environmental Protection Agency and served as Deputy Secretary for the Environment in the New York Governor’s Office. She is the founder and President of Beyond Plastics, a national project with the goal of eliminating plastic pollution everywhere.
