End Plastic Soup

The EndPlasticSoup movement was born in Amsterdam in June of 2018 when over 200 Rotarians from District 1580 and 100 children began fishing for plastic in the canals of Amsterdam.  From there, it cast its eyes on the plastic of the world.  It has a fierce ambition: “By 2050 there is no more plastic soup in the oceans, seas, no more plastic waste in our lakes, rivers, forests, parks and streets.”

Today it boasts 300 Rotary and Rotaract Clubs, including many from outside of the Netherlands, who have rallied to its iconic banner, high energy, and numerous cleanups.

Their motto is: Start today, Step by Step and Together
