UNEP Comprehensive Plastic Report
On Thursday Oct 21, the United Nations Environment Programme released a comprehensive report that pours cold water on the idea that recycling can solve the world’s plastic problem.
It recommends an urgent and accelerated “transition from fossil fuels to renewable energies, the removal of subsidies and a shift towards circular approaches” to help reduce plastic waste enough to protect the oceans and air.
